David J P Morgan

Born and brought up in Tenby I have always had a desire to paint. However, my early education followed the more technical artistic route and I qualified and practised as an Architect in London and Cardiff for many years, In that time I produced many architectural watercolours as part of my professional work and found an increasing demand for such work.

I began to produce more personal work in the late 1980's and had paintings accepted for The Summer Exhibition at the Coach House Gallery in Caerfili in 1989. It was very successful and all twelve paintings were sold.

I moved from Cardiff back to Pembrokeshire in 1990 but it is only over the last few years however that I have been able to devote more of my time to painting and fortunately an increasing interest in my work has led to a situation where I am now committed to painting for the majority of my time,

Most of my work is in the medium of watercolour and I enjoy a wide range of subjects although my work mostly falls into the catagories of landscapes, seascapes and marine studies. I have been successfull in having work accepted by The Royal Society of Marine Artists in their annual exhibition for the last two years.

1989 Exhibited in the Summer Exhibition at The Coachhouse Gallery, Caerfili.
1996 Opened Gallery in Stepaside Pembrokeshire showing my own work.

1997 My wife opened The Crogloffl Gallery at a National Trust property Colby House and Gardens in Amroth. My work is shown here together with other artists from Wales and the West of England
