The first two images are produced using the reduction
method (otherwise known as the "suicide" method). It involves working from the
palest colour to the darkest, cutting more lino away each time until only the black is
left, any mistakes such as removing too much lino are difficult to rectify, this is
probably why it is known as the suicide method. The third image was created using two lino blocks, the first produced the two shades of green using the reduction method, then a second piece of lino was cut to produce areas of shadow and give the image definition. |
